Description:

Hydrogen propulsion combustion technologies are a major step toward a decarbonized aviation sector. However, little is known about contrails from both, hydrogen combustion and hydrogen fuel cells. The Airbus mission Blue Condor provides first measurements of a contrail from a hydrogen combustion engine on a glider in relevant contrail forming conditions. The measurements were performed aboard the Grob EGRETT operated by AV Expert. The Airbus mission Nephele provides first measurements of a contrail from a fuel cell exhaust emulator flown on a Convair C131 in relevant contrail forming conditions. The measurements were performed aboard a Cheyenne Piper operated by AV Expert.
