Full mission name: Turbulence Around Shallow Convection
Description:
Boundary layer meteorology: The main focus of the campaign is to measure the dynamic properties of shallow convection over land with the newly installed measurement system on the DLR Caravan. Individual clouds are probed over flat and mountainous terrain with measurement transects in different heights and directions during the entire life cycle of the cloud. The measurements of 3-dimensional wind, buoyancy and pressure perturbations help to understand the dynamic properties of shallow convection over land. The high frequency data are adapted for turbulence analysis.
