Description of the institute
JNU was founded in 1906 as Jinan Academy in Nanjing as the first university to provide higher education to overseas Chinese. It later moved to the Pearl River delta and is now the most diverse university in China with the highest percentage of international students. There are five campuses, all in Guangdong province: in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai. In 2015, JNU clarified its vision of “becoming a distinctive high-level university with prestige” and planned to realize it in five to ten years.
