Description |
PHIPS-HALO is a novel single particle cloud probe that measures microphysical and angular light scattering properties of individual particles. The instrument is composed of a stereoscopic imager that takes two brightfield images from the particles under a viewing angle difference of 60°. Simulteneously to the taken images the scattering part of the instrument measures the angular scattering function of the particles from 1° to 170°. The optical resolution of the imager is about 3 µm. The angular resolution of the scattering part is 1° for the angular range from 1 to 10° and 8° for the angular range from 18 to 170°. http://www.imk-aaf.kit.edu |
