Description The BOLIDE lidar was the first middle atmosphere lidar to fly on a long-duration balloon. The Rayleigh lidar sounded the atmosphere above the floating altitude at 39 km of NASAs PMC-Turbo mission for six days in July 2018 from Kiruna, Sweden to western Nunavut, Canada for high-resolution measurements of noctilucent clouds / polar mesospheric clouds.
